Of the 40,000 respondents who participated in the survey, 42% are from tier-1 cities, 34% from tier 2 and the remaining 24% from tier-3, 4 and rural areas.

Tesla India: On the one hand, this looks like business as usual. Officials have made a habit of using the supposed potential of the domestic market as an inducement for foreign investors. The stick of high tariffs together with the carrot of possible consumer demand growth should be enough to lure in people like Musk, they think. That said, there’s a deeper story to be told here.
Electric 2w Sales: While the industry was dealing with policy uncertainties, a rollback in government subsidy pay-out quantum and litigation, there was a churn in the market share pecking order. This churn appears to have catapulted erstwhile smaller players to pole positions while relegating some market leaders to the fringes, and contributed to a healthy growth of the overall market.
