bret: john, there is a controversy over the lack of presidential portraits at va facilities across the country. the other day it was brought to the attention of florida congressman brian mast, who himself is a disabled veteran. that there weren t any portraits of the president. west palm beach and other facilities. mast, with a group of veterans, went to the va with their own portraits of president trump and hung them up on the wall. after they left, va staff took them down which prompted the white house to send a directive to the va. which it passed along to all of the hospitals across the country to allow dignified and appropriate unauthorized portraits to hang in va facilities until the official ones have been delivered bird we are told that the portraits that mast and the veterans provided our backup at the va facility in west palm beach and the of the official ones will soon be on
just this last year, secretary mcdonald compared wait times at va to those at disneyland. as recently as december your station reported va facilities had one to five star rating system. va jointed countless facilities at bottom of the list with one star ratings. sloan gibson, we re supposed to believe him in stars and stripes article that eliminating bonuses reduces hiring. how about eliminating constant scandals involving administrators. pete: if the current system continues through 2019, up to $160 million could be given out in bonuses without tied to performance. sloan gibson said any restriction on bonuses counterproductive and unwarranted. how can it be counterproductive to with hold bonuses that aren t earned? doesn t performance have to matter? why would the leader of va defend bonuses that are not justified? secretary mcdonald said we
