The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has announced a new program to provide COVID-19 testing and vaccinations as well as support for family members and others caring for vets suffering from the disease and its aftermath.
But according to Amy Rohlfs, a VA public information officer for the VA Pacific Islands Health System based in Honolulu, under which Guam falls, testing and vaccinations for COVID are not part of the caregiver program on Guam.
These functions on Guam are being handled by the Department of Public Health and Social Services instead of the VA Guam Community Based Outpatient Clinic.
