DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - With the new Vacation Home Rental (VHR) ordinance in Douglas County to start July 15, the process to apply for a permit will start July 1.
The County commissioners approved significant changes to the VHR program on June 3, placing a cap of 600 permits for the rentals. The County is anticipating the demand for permits will exceed the total number of the permits available and has established a waitlist application process to generate a list of property owners who may qualify to receive a permit.
Douglas County will accept waitlist applications from July 1 through July 31, 2021. The applications must be completed to qualify for new VHR permits. The online application and the PDF application can be found here. Applications for the waitlist will ONLY be accepted during this period.
Douglas County VHR waitlist period open July 1 - 31
