We were all a little shocked, Jen Watkins said. Watkins is the woman who cautiously filmed the bears Sunday afternoon at Pope Beach in South Lake Tahoe. I guess (the bear) had been out earlier, my son had seen it, she said. It had gotten a little bit unfriendly/protective of the cubs with a golden retriever. Watkins said the bear got away with someone s cooler before heading back into the forest and making sure her cubs got to cool off on the warm day. Authorities in the area have a stern warning for people who think getting that close to a bear is a good idea. They can be very dangerous, said Lt.
