Beltangady: DC visits Bangarapalke waterfall - Search operations to likely end   Fri, Feb 12 2021 08:02:01 PM Daijiworld Media Network - Beltangady (SP) Beltangady, Feb 12: Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner, Dr Rajendra K V, on Thursday February 11, visited the parents of Sanath Shetty from Kashibettu who went missing due to the landslide which occurred at Bangarapalke waterfall in Malavanthige village. He consoled them and said encouraging words. The search operation conducted in the last two weeks failed to yield any result. Speaking to Sanath s parents and brothers,  he said that the operation is continuing with the help of government employees from different departments and the public. He said that all efforts have been made to trace Sanath and the district administration has extended maximum support. He said that a decision on the future of the operation would be taken after visiting the site of the tragedy.

Bellevision Media Network Bantwal, 03 Feb 2021: An elderly woman’s death that was earlier considered as natural death turned out to be a murder at Ammunje village which comes under the limits of Bantwal rural police station.     The police arrested twenty-five-year-old Elma Praschita Baretto, a native of Amtady village, near here who was taking care of Benedicta. The police also arrested Elma’s accomplices Satish and Charan, who are the native of Narikombu, near here. The cops also recovered 98 grams of gold jewellery.   The cops were led by Bantwal rural sub-inspector Prasanna, Vittal sub-inspector Vinod Reddy, head constables Girish, Suresh, Janardhan, Pramila and Kiran, constables Nazir, Punit, Manoj and Prasanna. The operation was held at the instructions of Bantwal sub division deputy police commissioner Valentine D’Souza and Bantwal circle inspector T D Nagaraj.

Beltangady: Ujire boy kidnappers remanded to ten-day police custody   Mon, Dec 21 2020 11:41:31 AM Daijiworld Media Network - Beltangady (SP) Beltangady, Dec 21: Relating to the kidnap of a boy from Ujire, Anubhav, six persons who have been identified as having been involved with this crime, were produced in the court on Sunday December 20 whereupon they were remanded to ten days police custody. The boy and his parents had reached home on Saturday. The police have now intensified their search for the main conspirator who stage managed the abduction. The police have already said that a person who is well-known to Bijoy was the criminal behind this abduction. Once he is arrested, the police hope to be able to get information about all the angles of the kidnap.
