The Valley Wildcats were badly outshot but still picked up the 5-4 shootout win over the South Shore Lumberjacks.
The Jacks outshot Valley 44-20 and Riley Spears had two goals on Friday night.
The game at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre honoured the teams overage players as the season winds down.
Playoffs will get under next week with the start of a round robin tournament to determine seeding.
All teams will make the playoffs except for the Edmundston Blizzard. They have forfeited the remainder of the season due to rising COVID-19 cases in northern New Brunswick.
The South Shore Lumberjacks return to home ice Friday night.
The Jacks will take on the Pictou County Crushers at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre.
The Crushers are 13-12-1-0 on the season while the Lumberjacks are 4-19-0-1.
South Shore is coming off a 3-2 win against the Valley Wildcats last week.

Nova Scotia s Drake Batherson, 22, says it’s been a highly unusual NHL season so far. The start of the season was delayed and then divisions were realigned with all seven Canadian teams, including Batherson’s Ottawa Senators, moved into the North division.
