This incident is one of nearly 900 shots fired calls in to the Des Moines Police so far this year. Thats up from last years total of 848. And this year is not even over yet but police say calls for , service arent true indicators of crime rates. Police tell us they do use the calls to determine which neighborhoods need extra enforcement, especially during the summer months.
