JUNE 10 PESTICIDE RECERTIFICATION, N.C. Cooperative Extension in Warren, Vance and Granville Counties will be hosting two multi-category pesticide recertifications on June 10 at 10 a.m. and June 14 at 6 p.m. virtually via Zoom. If joining a webinar causes any issues for you, we will be allowing people to come into their respective County Extension offices to watch the webinars there. The following category credits will be included with the June 10 class: D, L, N and X. The following category credits will be included with the June 14 class: A, B, D, G, H, I, K, L, M, N, O, T, X. Registration is required and can be done at http://go.ncsu.edu/pestclasskerrtar. NOW LIVESTOCK SHOW, Warren County Cooperative Extension is conducting an interest survey to see the community’s interest in having a livestock show in Warren County in the future. If you or a member of your family have interest in showing livestock, please take a minute to fill out this brief survey: https://bit.ly/3sQxeDq. MEALS AVAILABLE, The Vance County Senior Center has temporary funding for home-delivered meals for all qualifying senior citizens with the zip code ending in 27537. These qualifications include: Must be 60 years or older, live in Vance County (zip code 27537), are home-bound and have no one to help with meals. NOW THE CREATIVE LIFELONG LEARNING PROGRAM of Granville County Senior Services is re-introducing programs for spring, and is gradually moving to in-person class offerings at the Granville County Senior Center in Oxford. Upcoming classes include “Eat Smart, Move More” (Wednesdays through May 26). Community awareness programs such as a “Look Back” at Granville County History (June 7, with local author Lewis Bowling) are also offered, as well as weekly interest groups such as “North Carolina, Our Home” (monthly) and “Games, Anyone” (Wednesdays). Instructors are also needed to round out the class schedule.
