WARRENTON â Joining other care providers in the area, Warren Countyâs health department this week will begin vaccinating anyone whoâs 65 and up against the coronavirus that causes COVID-19.
Because supplies of the vaccines are tight, people wanting the first of two shots will need to make an appointment to receive it. The number to call for an appointment is 252-257-1185.
The Warren County Health Department had already been immunizing people in whatâs now called the âGroup 1â population, namely health care workers and the staff and residents of nursing homes and other long-term facilities.
People 65 and up are in whatâs now called the âGroup 2â cohort, in keeping with a revision of the vaccination plan state officials announced last week in hopes of speeding the process along.
