The blaze broke out around 3:30 a.m. at the church located at 13905 108 Ave in the Whalley neighbourhood. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but Surrey RCMP said it is being treated as “suspicious.” The St. George Coptic Orthodox Church was also the target of an attempted arson just last Wednesday, although authorities do not know if the two incidents are connected.
