Vander Pla News Today

The response I’m getting from readers on the Reece Beekman news this morning is that UVA coach Tony Bennett is getting a second chance to make things right.

Virginia coach Tony Bennett appears to be done rebuilding the roster for 2023-2024 with the addition of Jake Groves, a 6’9” stretch four.

Tony Bennett put Kadin Shedrick in minutes purgatory for two months. Now Shedrick is taking his two years of eligibility to the transfer portal.

Ben Vander Plas and Armaan Franklin lead the way for the ‘Hoos in a fairly comfortable win.

Isaiah Wong scored 24 points and No. 22 Miami held on in a frantic finish to beat No. 6 Virginia 66-64.

Virginia struggles against Houston’s enveloping defense.

Vander Plas is named after Tony Bennett's father, who also coached his own dad. Virginia was the perfect landing spot for the Ohio transfer.

The Cavaliers aren't ignoring NIL or the transfer portal, but still preach patience — something gone from most of college basketball.
