Another Pedestrian Hit on Nationway in Cheyenne

Another Pedestrian Hit on Nationway in Cheyenne Cheyenne police are reminding drivers and pedestrians to be on the lookout for each other after a woman was struck by a vehicle on Nationway Friday night, the second in the past 10 days. Public Information Officer Alex Farkas says the incident happened around 10 p.m. near the intersection of Nationway and Old Trail Road. Farkas says a 59-year-old woman was walking in dark clothing near the shoulder of the roadway where there is no pedestrian walking lane when she was hit by an oncoming SUV. The woman, who police have not identified, was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center for her injuries.

Reconstructing a Mile-Long Hit-and-Run Rampage

Oregonlive.com On Jan. 25, a driver tore through Southeast Portland, swerving, speeding and plowing into pedestrians and cars. The rampage left one person dead and 10 others injured. The string of hit-and-runs also left victims, witnesses and family members bewildered and trying to piece together what happened. Paul Rivas, a 64-year-old man from rural Oregon City, faces 31 charges, including one of murder, seven of attempted murder and more than a dozen related to assault and attempted assault. He is accused of killing 77-year-old Jean Gerich, who died at the hospital about three hours after she was struck. At his arraignment Thursday, Rivas ducked from the view of people gathered to watch.

UPDATE: Lucky escape for woman struck by vehicle

Premium Content Subscriber only UPDATE, 6pm: A woman has escaped uninjured after she was hit by a vehicle at Silkstone on Wednesday afternoon. Paramedics and police attended the scene around 4.30pm. The woman was assessed on scene, though required no further treatment. It is understood she sustained some minor abrasions. She was not taken to hospital. The driver of the vehicle also escaped unharmed. INITIAL, 4.40pm: Emergency crews are currently at the scene of a vehicle versus pedestrian incident at Silkstone. Early reports suggested a woman was struck by a car at the corner of Grange Rd and Blackstone Rd about 4.20pm.
