Bursa Malaysia was lower at the lunch break as investors likely remained in a cautious mode following a mild pullback on Wall Street overnight. At 12.30pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) slid 5.15 points to 1,427.48 from Tuesday’s close of 1,432.63.

KUALA LUMPUR (May 9): Velesto Energy Bhd’s unit has secured three jack-up drilling rigs contract for Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd (PCSB) valued at US$128 million (RM569.48 million). The three jack-up rigs Naga 3, Naga 4, and Naga 6 have a drilling depth capability of 30,000 feet and a rated operating water depth of 350 feet to 400 feet, according to the company's Bursa Malaysia filing on Tuesday (May 9).
Bursa Malaysia opened higher on Monday (April 3), tracking further gains on the Wall Street amid improving market sentiment. At 9.10am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) increased 6.49 points to 1,429.08 from last Friday's closing of 1,422.59.
