Plans for flats at Candleriggs ALMOST 350 flats are set to be built in the Merchant City, with councillors recommended to approve the plans. Drum Property Group and Stamford Property Investments are behind the proposal for the site of the former Goldbergs store. They have already received permission in principle for the development of the land – which is bounded by Trongate, Wilson Street, Brunswick Street and Candleriggs. In September, they agreed an £81.5m deal with Legal & General to deliver 346 build-to-rent apartments. Now, councillors on the city’s planning committee, which meets today (Tuesday), are advised to approve the details of the proposal.
