Connecticut chiefs, legislators seek delay in police use of force policy included in sweeping accountability law passed last summer

Police chiefs are asking for changes on the use of deadly force as the legislature seeks to improve the controversial police accountability bill. Chiefs are concerned that the law now says police must have “exhausted’' all other options before using deadly force, but officers say that’s all being done in split-seconds and needs to be clarified.
