While crews driving trucks and snowplows were clearing and treating roadways, emergency shelters were offering those without heat a place to avoid the sub-freezing temperatures in Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley.
The Crawford Co. Search and Rescue Team reformed a year ago after being disbanded. Since then, swift water rescue team members have been training for when they're called to help.
Officials in the River Valley are bracing for another round of freezing precipitation that may undo long days and nights of work to make roads and highways passable.
