Ms. Collins good afternoon. Im susan collins, senator from the great state of maine. As the cochair with senator joe manson of the bipartisan commonsense coalition, im so pleased to be here with my colleagues to present our immigration security and opportunity act, which will be offered as a floor amendment sometime today. I want to thank each one of my colleagues for their hard work and their commitment to achieving a bipartisan solution. You have to look at the integrated defensive capabilities if youre talking about responding to north korea or iran, and that defensive capability because an essential element of our deterrent posture. We also have to think about who were deterring. And what works. What would what would be the aga

Want any part of it and we dont want to legitimatize it, because we want to be there because if they subpoena people like susan rice, john kerry, and hillary clinton, the presumptive 2016 president ial nominee, we have to be there to debate them. And so that has been going on, and the last look that we got is that they were leaning towards participating, but it remains to be seen what nancy pelosi is go ing the stay and do. And they have a little bit of the time, mind you, but they are saying that they want the Republican Leadership to respond to the demands of the possibility of equal representation which the republicans said they would not wa want to do and to figure out how authority tative the subpoena power will be and if they will have an ability to counteract that, and whether that is going to happen remains to be sceeens and we are going to look at that, and we have jim clyburn who said yesterday, we want no part of it, and Elijah Cummings said, no, i want to go there and play
