The suspect, identified as Balram, who has a record of over 12 criminal cases, was accused of coercing vendors at the Raghubir Nagar market in Khayala for protection money.
Police have arrested a mobile phone snatcher and two shopowners for allegedly being involved in selling stolen phones. Investigation revealed that the snatcher used to sell stolen phones to the shopowners at a low price and they then tampered with the IMEI numbers and resold them to unsuspecting customers for a profit. They also sent these phones to neighbouring countries for sale.
