Zachary Michael Hafele of Melbourne recently graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY. Hafele, a 2019 Viera High School graduate, earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a commission in the U. S. armed forces. He also earned a Merchant Marine officer license, qualifying him to serve as an officer on any ship in the U.S. flag merchant marine.

The Washington Commanders signed former Viera High School and Fordham quarterback Tim DeMorat. In 2022, DeMorat absolutely tore it up at Fordham, throwing for 4,891 yards and 56 touchdowns in his senior season. DeMorat played in 48 games at Fordham across five seasons, throwing for 13,461 passing yards, which is the third-most in FCS history.
