The SEP held a well-attended and moving meeting last Saturday honouring the life of former general secretary Wije Dias and his decades-long political struggle for Trotskyism.
Over 100 people attended the meeting, including workers from the ports, health, railways, and plantation sectors. Koggala Free Trade Zone, cinnamon industry and hotel workers travelled from Sri Lanka’s south to participate.
The Kolonnawa election meeting attracted workers, youth and urban poor from the area and was live-streamed on Facebook with over 1,200 views so so far.
The SEP is the only party in Sri Lanka that fights for the unified mobilisation of the working class on an international socialist perspective and against the communal divisions whipped up by the ruling elites.
