A downtown park is getting a makeover.
Beatty Hughes Park, located between Kieth’s Alley and Corry Street, may someday host live music concerts, outdoor movies, family picnics and art exhibits.
Yellow Springs Village Manager Josué Salmerón laid out a $30,000 park renovation proposal at Village Council’s Feb. 16 regular meeting. The presentation was discussion only.
Tentative plans call for a pavilion, new landscaping, pathways, additional benches and picnic tables at the 1.1-acre municipal property, colloquially known as the “Little Park.”
The park’s central location and proximity to both downtown and the bike path make it an important space for village life, Salmerón said. Yet it remains underused, he believes.
