Lloyds Banking Group has revealed it will be closing a Lloyds Bank branch in south Essex this year.

An East End community is in despair over the upcoming closure of a local bank.

TWEEDDALE MP David Mundell says the Bank of Scotland is “hell-bent” on closing a Peeblesshire branch after holding a meeting with its executives.

Lloyds said in a statement it would shut 24 Lloyds, 19 Bank of Scotland and 17 Halifax-branded branches by the end of the year, affecting more than 100 jobs.
