17 medical staff of the Fiji Corrections Service have completed online training on Healthcare in Detention to provide better services in their centres.
The training was jointly organised by the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Thammasat University of Thailand.
The training was supposed to be conducted in Bangkok but that did not eventuate due to COVID-19.
Corrections Commissioner, Francis Kean says the course will enable their medical staff to fulfill their responsibilities based on international practices.
Kean has thanked the staff for their sacrifices in completing this training for the well-being of the inmates and officers.
