Funeral Services for Mrs. Eddie Lee Ward Lyons, lovingly called “Mama Lyons,” will be held Saturday, May 8, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Harmony Baptist Church Clifton E. Lewis Family Life Center in Ruston. She departed this life on April 26, 2021.
Mama Lyons was born to the union of Leroy and Virginia Ward on July 12, 1927 in Mangham, Louisiana. After the unexpected death of Leroy, Virginia married Archie Gardner, and together they raised Mama Lyons and her six siblings in a very loving home. She spent her early years in Mangham and Rayville, Louisiana. She completed her secondary education in Rayville, where she excelled academically. With her parents’ blessings, she attended then Grambling College and earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, which made her the first college graduate in her family.

TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (WTOC) - Tybee Island homes and businesses are decked out in green for the first annual âPaint Tybee Ireland Greenâ celebration. Organizers say the participation from the community exceeded their expectations and itâs been fun to see all of the creativity used in decorating the town.
âWhen we win it this year we want to maintain our crown for next year!â said competitor Nora OâLeary Missroon.

Joe Dean Cash, 87 years old, received a terminal diagnosis on Tuesday and spent the next two days at home surrounded by family, laughing and loving, before passing away on Jan. 22.
Joe was born on Aug. 25, 1933 in Logan, to Dean and Juanita Cash. He was the first of three children. He married Carol Greenig on June 20, 1958 in the Los Angeles Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Joe grew up in Utah and California and learned the value of hard work at a young age. He met Carol Greenig after completing his service in the Army during the Korean War with his primary deployment in Panama. Joe and Carol raised their family in Lakewood, CA. Joe retired early from General Telephone Electric where he began as a lineman and completed his career managing a telecommunications center. Following his initial retirement he worked for several companies, including Douglas Aircraft and Spongberg Mortuary. He also oversaw facilities
