FORT PLAIN The Fort Plain Museum and Historical Park will present a George Washington’s birthday celebration with the following three free virtual events by three historians. These events are made possible through an anonymous donor, according to a news release. At 6 p.m. Monday:âEdward G. Lengel George Washington and the Nemesis of War. At 7 p.m. Thursday: Mary V. Thompson “The Only Unavoidable Subject of Regret”: George Washington, Slavery, and the Enslaved Community at Mount Vernon. At 7 p.m. March 1, James Kirby Martin Remembering George Washington: In Context.
