In response to the increased demand for care, Timmins and District Hospital will be opening an additional eight patient beds, including three negative pressure rooms, the hospital stated in a release Friday.
“In direct response to the pressures we are seeing within our hospital, we are bringing on an additional hospitalist physician to care for our COVID-19 patients,” the hospital stated.

TADH reported it had 10 patients admitted after testing positive for COVID-19.
One of them was being treated in the intensive care unit.
The hospital also reported the average age of admitted COVID-positive patients at TADH was 54.
