accomplishments. but looking at where both sides are right now it s hard to see where the concessions come from, especially because the senate does not appear willing to budge on anything. trace: what about it s a very good point. what about these 11th hour deals? you see that republicans are huddled right now and they come out of the meeting, they have to say something, do something, to try and at least make the effort or make it look like they re trying to avoid this shutdown. they re trying to be the they re at the diplomatic ones, trying avoid this thing. what comes out of this and does anybody, anybody blame the democrats for this shutdown if the republicans offer something the democrats say absolutely not? i think what could come out of this, at least about 20 minutes ago what they were talking about coming out of this is house republicans taking up funding resolution that would include what is called the vitter amendment which would delay the mandate for a year.
i actually was one of the folks in the administration who saw it. and it was much uglier than i think people remember. but in terms of this idea of a clean cr coming back, we re actually even hearing now about this vitter amendment, that there s a consideration that perhaps when the version that comes back from the senate, which we know will once again stir about any mention of repealing, replacing, you know, delaying obama care, but now they re talking about potentially adding this vitter amendment which would impact capitol hill employees? well, the republicans are throwing against the radic th republicans, really, are throwing everything against the wall and seeing what sticks. they have tried the military. they have tried obama care. they have tried all these things. you they re trying the federal employees. and none of it is going to work. this is not the place for the negotiation. and if they want to shut the government down, they are going to pay a heavy price.
house says that it has some cards to play, though, still to keep us from going to the brink of a shutdown. like what? yeah, i think we heard kevin mccarthy, number three republican in the house give a hint of that on fox news sunday. they passed a cr and the senate took it out, sent back the clean cr and the house said, okay, we ll put another obama care care provision in it, the one-year delay of it and added a repeal of the medical device tax. what happens if the senate does what harry reid says it s going to do. it ll take those two obama care provisions out and send a clean cr back to the house. so at that point the house could just pass the clean cr and all be over. is morning they havethy yet another obama care provision that they re going to attach and send it back yet again to the senate. most people think that s going to be some form of the vitter
growth outcomes, their stature and their weight, it affects their brain in a much deeper level. so we re starving the next generation of americans. we re willing to do that? it s just insane. as jeff bridges said in laurie s film. if another country was doing this to our children, we would declare war on that country. it s not just in the snap program where benefits aren t enough, but across the board is a crime. the vitter amendment, he s not interested in throwing a small handful of ex-felons off the program. one the application it will have a declaration i am not a felon, he s interested in humiliating people applying for the program and discouraging them from applying. and two, going back to the program, he s racializing the debate. yep. this point about humiliating the people who are recipients of
