Vladimir Grakun said: “Belarusian agricultural enterprises are about to finish harvesting cereals and leguminous crops. As of today 97.5% of the areas under headed cereals and rapeseed has been harvested, including 98% of headed cereals and leguminous crops."
“As of 30 August, 97% of the area under grain and leguminous crops (except corn) was cleared in Belarus. Over 6,977,000 tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, was cropped. By noon the harvest already reached 7 million tonnes, including rapeseed,” Vladimir Grakun said.
Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko set a task for farmers to increase the daily pace of grain harvesting to up to 6% of the area as he paid a visit to the Olekshitsy agricultural enterprise in Berestovitsa District on 3 August.
Agricultural workers should not slow down after harvesting grain crops, because there is still a huge chunk of agricultural works ahead that must be completed in time, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko told farmers during a working trip to Kamenets District, Brest Oblast, BelTA has learned.
