I think georgia is singularly important because of the star that is stacey abrams, and thats extremely important to the national narrative. but a statewide election that is something that is inherently parochial in nature and it wont have national reverberations. i think she has built a democratic voting base in georgia over the last 15 years. i think when you talk about stacey abrams, its important to recognize the work that she and nse ew fhad and the new georgia project that people have put i...

Not whats out of it, this is a step in the right direction and this is what president biden ran on all along and he has to make sure he sells these things and sells them for what theyre going to do and not the process that we had to go through to get here and that might end up being something successful for him that he can head into the new year instead of being six feet under in the polls. >> i want to bring you in, congressman, because you saw what happened this week. republicans overwhelmingl...

Important. >> there are essentially votes 49 and 50. biden is an institutionalist and he is an optimist and he likes to be collegial. i imagine you fancy yourself that way, as when you were in congress. given where we are, though, and given that people are voting strictly down a party line. theres been no republican support for the build back better plan do you think there is even a possibility that republicans would cross the line and render sinema less important given that these policies would...

Should learn from the right wing. have game. have manipulation. have -- this is the game were in. if this is the game were, in learn to describe what youre about. learn to describe what youre meaning. learn to describe what your goals are in ways that dont immediately alienate the people that youre trying to support, number one. and number two, that dont play easily into the game of the right wing. should we have to do that? no. but do we have to? absolutely right. do you want the commercial or ...

Playing into the big lie, and i agree in my heart about democracy being on the line, that we may not recognize this country in a few years if we cannot maintain faith in our elections and if we cannot broaden our countrys voting base. everyone should be voting. we need to get more voter participation, notless. that will make us a better country. but im going to go political now. if you want to win races, you cant tell people what they think should -- what you think is the most important issue fa...

Happy halloween. well, desantis has been remarkably consistent, if anything. i mean, his entire stance on this pandemic has been in opposition to what the science has shown. and if he says one thing, does another, and again, actions speak louder than words. with this new political ma nooufer, trying to advocate for the police and those who support the police, hes incentivizing unvaccinated police officers to come to florida. that sends the wrong message. if you talk to him, hell say i support va...

>> for what they call the front liners, the -- doesnt. and because the election is in just a few weeks in virginia. and what he said to erin burnett last night, what he said to me on sunday, what hes saying to anybody who will listen, because hes trying to get through to the president, whom he says he loves, is get this done not just because its about jobs in virginia and so on and so forth, its also about take away a negative. and that negative is, wait a second, we put democrats in charge in t...

Our systems, we cant trust our own ballots this next election. that is a recipe for chaos and the kind of muscle memory thats required to keep our democracy going, where its instinctive that we certify an election, we understand the results, and we move on, if thats destroyed, we are in chaos. >> let me show you some of chris krebs interview, charlie sykes, about what i think frank is describing as this self-fulfilling, self-perpetuating cycle that we are already in. >> theyre afraid to speak up...

Its their voting base. they have a cap of what they recognize under the party leadership of trump they rhetorc is so harmful. no, they dont care. we have republicans running against vaccine mandates, and against things we know families are losing their loved ones over this pandemic. theyll lose. >> well talk about the california recall for those of you have not gotten enough of that story. dr. hilton, "the washington post" reported a grim milestone of 1 in 500 americans have died from covid-19. ...

Analysis was spot on. manchin reflecting his more conservative voting base in west virginia and continuing to appeal to that and hes just not going for the same constituents as bernie sanders in vermont. of course, its not surprising they dont see exactly eye to eye. manchin seems pretty firm and dug in on the fact he thinks this is way too much spending. he wants a lower number. so i feel like that lower -- that number is going to have to get significantly lower if theyre going to get this crit...
