ops, we need action in the john lewis voting rights act and freedom to vote act and we need that immediately. senate majority leader chuck schumer says he plans to hold a vote to change the rules on filibuster. that is dead on arrival without the support of senator manchin. i m hoping it wouldn t come to this to fix things, every american has a right to vote. republicans are unanimously opposed. it has nothing to do with protecting the ballot box. this is not a voting rights bill. it s a sweeping takeover of our democracy. the president speaks this afternoon, todd and carley and one observation, the president may want to start the speech with how about them dogs,
republicans. so you support those two bills the john lewis voting rights act and freedom to vote act. of course. one thing i say about keeping this coalition together is we have to start arguing about policy across the board. there are going to be conservative members of congress who are remarkably conservatives and not going to go in step with democrats. i m not asking about tax cuts here. this is fundamental for what you and i say we care about i agree. kinzinger and cheney don t support that i think it has to get done. i m sorry they don t. i also think the democrats are the party in power and they need to focus on getting this done. you can t keep pointing at liz cheney and adam kinzinger and saying but for two republicans somehow we would get this done. the democrats need to make this a focus and get their messaging and party in order. agreed. and get this thing passed instead of pointing at liz cheney.
