it takes a lot of effort. i can be more politically correct than anybody you ve ever interviewed but it takes a lot of time to do it and you re going around in different circles and you re never getting there. we don t have time for it anymore, katie. katie, good morning. reporter: good morning, jose. you ve been covering his campaign since the start. what does it say to you that mr. trump is saying he s going to watch his words a little bit more? reporter: i almost fell out of my seat. i stopped him, i said what do you mean? he said he didn t use the word regret but maybe he could have done thing a little differently. that s what they re going to do for. next 117 days now until they get into new hampshire and iowa for when the voting starts. it s interesting to see donald trump take this approach. i think maybe the campaign might be seeing for the first time
shouldn t put too much emphasis on these polls at this point. yes, donald trump is still in front with less support than he had previously. hard to imagine him or ben carson being the party s nominee. but ultimately, we have to get to a point much closer than when the voting starts or when the voting actually starts, and there will probably be a decision between one of these outsider candidates and one of these insider candidates. and that s when the real decision is going to be made here. so i wouldn t completely count jeb bush out yet. but he s got to find a way to do some better campaigning. you have this morning on morning joe, he was asked about this report in the washington post that some donors were putting him on notice. and he says no donor has called me. but there s reporting certainly out there that disputes that claim. listen, i think the truth of the matter is right now jeb s job is to sort of hang back and be in the conversation enough so he s still trusted. but
but it seemed the first entire half was bickering. how do you think she handled herself? i think she handled herself very well. at least her candor and directness. she came off as a leader. but i do think, and i agree with tammy on this point. there is a clear message in her ascendancy. she made it to the primetime debate. now made it to the top of the poll. that is a meteoric rise. it reflects the fluidity. we should all be taking a deep breath and say when the voting starts we will see settling in. but as tammy said, that doesn t happen for some time. once the voting starts, we will see people making commitments, voters making commitments. what is happening now is the attacks are will canning. donald trump was attacking not only her position but her very appearance. new york times said they think
