Vulcan’s council discussed a proposal April 11 to open the Vulcan District Arena in mid-September, two weeks earlier than the regular opening date of Oct. 1.
The Town of Vulcan is currently taking family bookings for the Vulcan District Arena.
Channing Schneider, the Town of Vulcan’s recreation coordinator, said families could book time on Sundays around what’s already scheduled to take place that day.
Goalie clinic sessions and the Vulcan Skate Club are currently booked on Sundays. The goalie clinic sessions take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and from 12:45-1:45 p.m., with the last scheduled sessions on March 14. The skate club has ice booked from 2-6:45 p.m. each Sunday, according to the rink schedule.
If there’s lots of demand for family bookings, another day – likely Saturday – could be added for family bookings, said Schneider.
