Dr Betta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, has confirmed that she made a request to the Accountant General of the Federation, Mrs Oluwatoyin Sakirat Madein to send public funds to a private account, as contained in a letter obtained by SaharaReporters.  Speaking on the incident, the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Minister, Rasheed Zubair said the N585.198million payment for the vulnerable group followed due process.

The Accountant General of the Federation (AGF), Dr Oluwatoyin Madein, has clarified that the OAGF does not make payments on behalf of Ministries, Departments and Agencies for projects and programmes implemented by the MDAs.
