Protesting against the owner, Donald Sterling, who is alleged to have made stunning racial comment on a recording released this weekend. Sterling was not at the game today. The National Basketball association is investigating what it calls disturbing and offensive comments, apparently made by a team owner. Donald sterling, the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, is at the center of a controversy thats been exploding since this morning after the web site tmz posted audio they say is sterling making racist remarks about African Americans. This is the longest tenured owner in a league whose players are mostly black. The clippers are in the middle of a playoff series, and sterlings players are said to be furious. Late today, the Clippers Organization said it does not know if the tape is legitimate or has been altered. But as vinita nair reports, sterling did apologize to anyone who may have been hurt by the remarks attributed to him. Pelley good evening. This is our western edition. Right now, dangerous weather is moving through the south and midwest. Its already created a tornado that hit tupelo, mississippi this afternoon. The extent of the damage and injuries there is not clear. Right now, tornado watches are up in mississippi, alabama, louisiana, tennessee, kentucky and virginia. And, in iowa, illinois and missouri. This is what a tornado spawned by this system did last evening just outside little rock. Twisters are blamed for at least 16 deaths in arkansas, oklahoma and iowa. Many more have been injured. The Ukrainian Government launched an offensive to try to take back eastern parts of the country now controlled by pro russian forces. Two ukrainian helicopters were shot down. The violence spread to ukraines Third Largest city, odessa. Supporters of the Ukrainian Government there fought with prorussian activists. Dozens are reported dead, and Russian Troops are massed on the border. Clarissa ward is in ukraine.
