A Charleston-based developer is planning a mixed-use Planned Development District on an 18.8-acre tract off Highway 701 and Meadow Street near downtown Loris. It would include a 120-unit apartment complex.
It took Loris city planners about nine months to draft and fine-tune the Loris Comprehensive Plan 2040. They’ll have to wait a little longer for the state-mandated document to be officially adopted, as the city council does some editing of its own.
The Loris Planning Commission voted unanimously on Thursday, April 25 to send an update of the city’s long-range comprehensive plan to the city council for approval. The document, titled Loris Comprehensive Plan 2040, is expected to be on the agenda when the city council meets on May 6.
