Southampton man fined for growing cannabis

A SOUTHAMPTON man has been fined after he was found growing cannabis. Kurtis Wade Batty, 36, was caught growing three cannabis plants in Southampton on September 14 last year. Appearing at Southampton Magistrates Court, he pleaded guilty to the offence. Batty, of Vaudrey Close, Southampton, he was fined £100 and the plants were seized under section 27 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 and destroyed. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and court costs of £45.
