and other indigenous tasty fish species in the River Siran.
“We have launched a crackdown against the illegal fish hunting through electric current and explosives to protect Mullah and other indigenous fish species,” Sadia Noor, the fishery department’s inspector, told reporters in Dadar area of Siran valley on Saturday.
Led by Noor, a team of fishery department arrested three hunters red-handedly fishing in the river in the Dadar and Sam areas and fined them.
“We have been issuing permits to hunters who hunt with hooks but killing fishes with electric current and explosives can’t be allowed at any cost,” she said.
