The Prince of Wales praised the “dogged determination” of teachers throughout the pandemic at the School Leadership Conference on Sunday.
In a pre-recorded welcome message, the Prince, who is a founding patron of the conference’s organising institute, the Prince’s Teaching Institute, thanked teachers for their “continuing commitment to nurturing the next generation in these particularly challenging times.”
Prince Charles said:
“I must say I’m enormously impressed by all that I’ve heard about what you’ve managed to achieve despite all of the many difficulties you have faced.
“Last term, the challenges were coping with teaching in a different way because of social distancing, at the same time as dealing with the mountain of logistical challenges of running a school with staff and student illness, remote teaching, bubbles, constant handwashing, deep cleaning the list goes on and on.
