FREEPORT As Michelle Stubbe drove around in 1994 looking for the location of her job interview, she got the surprise of her life. I answered a blind ad that said if you like working with people 55 and older in a counseling position you are the one for us, she said. I was living in southeast Wisconsin then. I was driving around looking for the address, and I ended up pulling up in front of a funeral home.
Not knowing what to expect, she opened the door that day and started on her career path. That path led her to Walker Mortuary in Freeport. Except for a short hiatus, Stubbe has found her passion and career at 321 Main St. in Freeport.
