Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) founder Sharad Pawar unveiled his faction's symbol on Saturday at a party event in Mumbai. The NCP chief said the new face of the NCP would change the fate of Maharashtra.

A day after the Election Commission of India (ECI) recognised the Ajit Pawar faction as the real Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and allotted the faction the symbol of Wall Clock, the Sharad Pawar faction is likely to submit the new name and symbol for their party by Wednesday evening.

NCP crisis: The two strongmen of Maratha politics had been at loggerheads since July 2023 when Ajit Pawar rebelled against his uncle and joined the Eknath Shinde-led government in Maharashtra.

In a major setback to party founder Sharad Pawar, the Election Commission of India also allotted the NCP symbol Wall Clock to the group led by Ajit Pawar.

Supriya Sule told reporters that despite the ECs decision in favour of Ajit Pawars group, the dedication and support of the party workers remain firmly aligned with Sharad Pawar.
