procession. if you look on the nbc news app that our viewers can get free, they can track that procession themselves and see it. it s apparently 1,408 30-inch steps. that s how the procession has been calculated by sergeant major billy mott, who has been issuing the orders and telling the military personnel how they re to conduct themselves. he was actually in the guard of honor when princess diana got married herself 30 years ago and now he s risen to the very top, and he is going to be commanding all 1,400 men and women who will be processing on friday. seems like it will be a really nice full circle moment for him and also, as you mentioned, during that practice hopefully people will be able to practice their proper fainting techniques if need be. martin bashir in london where he s going to be bringing you full wall-to-wall coverage of preparations for the royal wedding beginning on monday at 3:00 right here on msnbc.
stimso still some storms. we re concerned about the likelihood of severe weather in places like birmingham and into atlanta later in the day on saturday. anywhere here you see draped in red or orange, you are in a severe weather-prone spot on saturday. morning hours is going to be here in oklahoma. western arkansas where we ll likely see hail, large hail possibly, and damaging winds, and as the day progresses, things will ramp up in alabama, stretching over to georgia where we could see severe thunderstorms, we can t rule out the possibility of tornadoes with these severe thunderstorms either as we head through the afternoon and evening hours across much of the deep south. and much of this region will be affected as we head into sunday, as well, across the southeast. it s going to be into georgia, carolinas, we re in that severe weather season, thomas. you want to stick with us this weekend, we ll have wall-to-wall coverage of all the severe weather across the nation. thanks so much.
