North Wales arch could come down soon

NORTH WALES — A local landmark could be coming down soon. I m sad to say this, but I think it s time that we take a look at Walnut Square, and the arch, said council President Jim Sando. As I walked through there the other day, I noticed how incredibly infested with carpenter bees it has become, he said. - Advertisement - Located in the borough s Walnut Street Park just north of the intersection of Main and Walnut Streets, a wooden arch stands over a walkway connecting the sidewalk with an adjacent parking lot. A plaque at the base of the arch indicates it was Constructed by North Montco A.V.T.S  — now the North Montco Technical Career Center — Building Technology Class of 1990, and a circular plaque atop the center of the arch reads North Penn Chamber Community Enhancement Award.

Hoptown Hose Down

May 25, 2021 | 2:19 PM With summer heat on the rise, the Hopkinsville Fire/EMS Department and Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation Department are teaming up again to help the community cool down. The 2nd Annual Hoptown Hose Down partnership, beginning Tuesday, June 1st, will have an HFD-provided pumper truck traveling to six different parks from 1:30-2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays during June to safely spray down attendees with a water hose and nozzle throughout Hopkinsville. Use of the extra truck and personnel from the Fire Department will not take away from any regular services provided or emergencies responded to by HFD/EMS. Parks employees on site will be facilitating the mobile spray parks.
