A Taiwanese court allowed a married gay man to legally adopt his husband’s non-biological child in a historic case.

While the ruling has offered LGBTQ+ activists hope, advocates say they will still push for equality since the court decision only applies to the couple.

A judge in Taiwan has ruled in favour of a gay man who wants to adopt his husband's non-biological child, in a historic step for LGBT+ rights. 

Taipei, Jan. 5 (CNA) A family court in Taiwan has approved an adoption appeal from a partner in a same-sex marriage, allowing him to become an adoptive father of a child originally adopted by his partner before they were married because it was in the best interests of the child.
