Interview: China, ROK poised for future cooperation-

China-Japan relations involve a number of old and new problems, a senior Chinese diplomat said on Tuesday, adding that the difficulties and challenges faced by bilateral ties should not be ignored.

Vice-President Wang Qishan, as the special representative of President Xi Jinping, will lead a delegation to the Republic of Korea to attend the inauguration ceremony of Yoon Suk-yeol, the ROK president-elect, Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said on Friday.

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday spoke on the phone with South Korean President-elect Yoon Suk-yeol, during which he stressed China and South Koreas responsibility in defending regional peace and promoting international prosperity and said that China is willing to work with South Korea in building a fairer global governance system.

South Koreas presidential election is expected to conclude on Wednesday, and the result could significantly impact China-South Korea ties in the coming years, for which China will remain prepared.
