University student Xu Zinuo, 21, who was tragically killed alongside his parents and four-year-old sister in the Meizhou-Dabu highway collapse, has been fondly remembered by his teachers and peers in a moving obituary.
Wang Xiangnan, a truck driver, who halted his cold chain truck on the expressway to stop cars during the collapse of the Meizhou-Dabu Expressway, was rewarded with 10,000 yuan(approximately $1,413) from a justice and courage association in Puyang, located in Central China s Henan Province on Sunday. Huang Jiandu, who bravely knelt in the middle of the road to halt traffic on the highway, was also honored with a reward in South China s Guangdong Province.
A Chinese truck driver has been praised in local media for parking his vehicle across a highway and preventing more cars from tumbling down a slope after a section of the road in the country s mountainous south collapsed and killed at least 48 people.
