(AP) A Jackson city councilor is hosting a march on Sunday in an effort to combat violence in Mississippi s capital city. Jackson City Councilman Kenneth Stokes told WAPT-TV that Mississippi Department of Corrections Commissioner Burl Cain, Hinds County Sheriff Lee Vance and Jackson Police Chief James Davis are among the speakers planned for Sunday s “Stop the Violence” march. The march is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Mississippi and Congress Streets and will end at Jackson City Hall. “We are trying everything, everything in our power to try and let young people, old people, all people know to stop the violence,” Stokes told the television station.
