The pursuit of adventure and desire to fulfill a higher purpose has led Auburn alumnus Marc Tunstall through an illustrious career in the military and government agencies, and now it is taking him across the globe to the frozen tundra of Antarctica.

Auburn University’s College of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment plans to soon enhance Weagle Woods, an approximately 11-acre tract of forestland located behind the Forestry and Wildlife Sciences Building on the corner of South Donahue Drive and Lem Morrison Drive.

Thanks to a newly unveiled museum exhibit, visitors to Auburn University can travel back in time 82 million years.

Auburn is the No. 1 university on Forbes magazine’s 2022 list of “America’s Best Employers for New Grads,” which once again recognized Auburn as a premier workplace. 

Becky Barlow was recently named associate dean for extension in the Auburn University College of Agriculture and assistant director for agriculture, forestry and natural resource extension programs in the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. She begins the role Wednesday, June 1.

Four of the closed swim beaches at U.S. Army Corps of Engineers parks at Beaver Lake are now open after being closed early this week.

Several popular swimming beaches are closed until water levels are safe.

Four Auburn University Living Democracy students will spend ten weeks living and learning in the Alabama communities of Camden, Collinsville, Chatom and Elba this summer. The 2022 Living Democracy students are Cori Akins, Brin Allen, Dioselin Cruz and Ashby Henry. The students will work closely with community partners and local citizens to discover what it means to live democracy.
