Auburn University Libraries, in partnership with the League of Women Voters of East Alabama, is hosting a voter registration day on April 6 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Ralph Brown Draughon Library. Those wishing to register to vote or just wanting information on voting are welcome to stop by.

On Dec. 26, 1956, when the United States Supreme Court ruled to stop racial discrimination on public buses in Montgomery, Alabama, Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. called for the U.S. to work to and#8220;become the beloved community.and#8221; To commemorate the life and work of King, Auburn University will host and#8220;Becoming the Beloved Communityand#8221; from April 4-5.

On April 7, the College of Liberal Arts, or CLA, at Auburn University will host AUsome Alumni Day, a one-day event that connects students with influential CLA alumni.

Giovanna Summerfield has been named the editor-in-chief of the journal Italian Studies. She is only the second woman editor in the journals 95-year history.

Interior Design students in the College of Human Sciences scored a “first” for the program when they said, “Aloha,” and headed to Oahu, Hawaii, for their capstone project. Students enrolled in the Advanced Design Project studio course, led by professors Lindsay Tan and Taneshia Albert, were challenged to redesign a downtown hotel into a multistory, multipurpose community building.

The Office of Academic Insight, or OAI, continues to advance its efforts to support student achievement with the expansion of the Insight Lab. Earlier this month, Rachel Whitman Rotch and Charlie Wilder joined the lab as senior analysts to provide analytical support to units wishing to better understand how to use data to support student success.

As part of a new consortium designed to advance the role of artificial intelligence, or AI, in teaching and research, the Southeastern Conference, or SEC, is inviting faculty from its 14-member institutions to participate in the first Mini-Conference on Artificial Intelligence in the Curriculum on Friday, April 8. Hosted by the University of Florida, the free conference will be held from 12–3 CST via Zoom.
