Area likely to see warmest week of 2021 so far

During the weekly weather conference call Monday with the National Weather Service in Paducah, Warning Coordination Meteorologist Rick Shanklin said highs will be in the upper 70’s until rain moves in Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Winter Storm Watch Issued For Wednesday And Thursday

The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Winter Storm Watch that will take effect Noon Wednesday lasting through 6:00 Thursday evening. Forecasters say moderate to locally heavy precipitation is possible, with snow accumulations of two to four inches possible, although there is still quite a bit of uncertainty regarding exact accumulation amounts. The highest totals will be more likely along the Kentucky/Tennessee border. Officials add to plan on slippery road conditions. During a briefing with Warning Coordination Meteorologist Rick Shanklin, he was asked if this system could overproduce, since the last winter storm under-produced. He says that it’s possible.
